Types of tests
We can distinguish three types of digital test questions and tests:
- Knowledge test:
Mainly closed questions such as multiple choice-, yes / no or multiple-answer questions, focusing on lower-order cognitive levels/questions/objectives. - Comprehension tests or complex comprehension testing:
Targeting a survey of higher order cognitive knowledge, knowledge application and problem solving. The question form can be closed or open. - Skill Tests:
Suitable for higher order cognitive knowledge, problem-solving or even skills tests. These tests are often performed in simulation (for example, an online business game or a virtual patient).
