Collaborative learning · Overview

In this module we focus on collaborative learning as a teaching methodTeaching methods indicate how you want to work and specify activities for the teacher and the student. The choice of a teaching method is related to the predetermined objectives and the context.. You get to know the different types of collaborative learning and the principles on which the success of collaborative learning depends.

Next, we focus on online collaborative learning. You get an overview of collaboration tools which can help you design online collaborative learning, as well as an overview of the (dis)advantages of each tool. We zoom in on the most important conditions for online collaborative learning.

By the end of this module, you will have achieved the following objectives:

  • Insight in collaborative learning as a teaching method. You have insight in collaborative learning as a teaching method, the different types (of collaborative learning) and the most important principles of collaborative learning.
  • Overview of collaboration tools. You have an overview of the different kinds of tools that can support collaborative learning and their most important features. verzicht op samenwerkingshulpmiddelen. J
  • Conditions for online collaborating. You have an understanding of some group dynamics and of the key conditions to organize online collaborative learning.oorwaarden voor online samenwerken. 
  • Develop a road-map. You can develop a roadmap for online collaborative learning: according to your own problem, you formulate an approach for collaborative learning, select the resources you want to use, you describe the most important conditions and you determine an approach for assessment.

This module builds further on the content from the modules ‘basis’ and ‘design’. Therefore, it is necessary to finish those modules before starting with the ‘collaborative learning’ module.
